For those of us who don't have perfect long legs, most jeans require a bit of tailoring before they become perfect. Whether they're too long or too short, pants rarely hit us at that magic spot right above our ankles. And, yes, sure, we'll eventually take them to the tailor at some point, but, until then? Cuff

Whether you go for the double cuff, a simple fold-over, or something sloppy chic, I think that a little origami action with your jeans can change the entire look of them. I love the idea of showing off a little skin, especially now that the sun has finally decided to make an appearance. But, keeping things neat with the tops of your boots works as well. Even better, when you're in a full-on denim-on-denim outfit, that little fold can give your jeans another pop of color. Here are some cuff looks I love:

Happy cuffing!

Fashion week. One of the most exclusive, glamorous, and high end events of the year. At least it used to be. Now.. whats the point in getting out of bed? Celeb stylist Rachel Zoe agrees - as she laid with her newborn baby watching the shows on a live stream. This led to the emergence of "Video Fashion Week." What this is, is instead of designers paying the big bucks at Lincoln Center to show their new line, they simply create a video featuring their pieces. It's creative, innovative, and still gets the job done. Although I hope NYFW continues on, I have a feeling more and more designers will go the "video" route to show their collections. Here's a link to a video by Nellie Partow:

Enjoy!

Lookbooks are great for a few reasons. First of all, they're great because they essentially put looks together for you and usually, if I like what she's wearing in the photo, I'll order it all. Second, for higher end designers, it gives you the chance to see whats coming out before it actually does. Up until a few years ago, lookbooks were sent to only a few select people as actual books so that they can see what's coming up. Now, everything has turned completely digital and we all get the chance to see it. So awesome! I also love how the lookbook helps to portray the brand image of the company. Although there aren't "outfits" in this lookbook, it was one that really stuck out to me when I saw it. Mara Hoffman killed it - I need everything.

Post #7: You (Wish You Were) Invited!

When: Today, May 18, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: Hu's Wear, 2906 M Street NW; 202-342-2020.
What: Celine Spring/Resort 2012 Trunk Show

You know its an exclusive trunk show when only special invitations were sent out.
I'm sure most of you may have seen flyers at local boutiques for a trunk show for up and coming designers, however, now - its different. Now, it has become a social event for high end designers and wealthy housewives. Being a huge fan of Celine merchandise, I remembered back a few years ago when this event occurred and I dreamed of one day being invited to something like this.  Only the absolute top Celine clients were invited - where they got free alcohol and macaroons in hopes of big spending.

Here are some pictures of the suare:
