You know its an exclusive trunk show when only special invitations were sent out.
I'm sure most of you may have seen flyers at local boutiques for a trunk show for up and coming designers, however, now - its different. Now, it has become a social event for high end designers and wealthy housewives. Being a huge fan of Celine merchandise, I remembered back a few years ago when this event occurred and I dreamed of one day being invited to something like this. Only the absolute top Celine clients were invited - where they got free alcohol and macaroons in hopes of big spending.

I totally agree, just like how fashion shows are changing so are trunk shows in a number of different ways. And let's hope one day you get invited one these shows and share your experience.
ReplyDeleteWow! I definitely wish I was invited to this! I did not know that Celine would offer 'Trunkshows', I always thought that designers have their runway shows and their most exclusive clients would be invited to the show.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do agree that now, more so than ever, trunk shows are becoming more of a social event. Designers offer orderves and champagne, creating a comfortable environment for high end clientele to enjoy, ultimately hoping that it will help encourage a purchase.
