As I walked around New York City looking at window displays, I found that although the styles of clothing are different, the colors are very similar. The key colors for Spring 2015 are extremely clear. Here is what I saw:

1. Aritzia
Here is a perfect example of a bright pop of red-orange being balanced out by neutral colors. This was a common trend I saw throughout my window shopping adventure through NYC. Whether a woman wants to be daring and wear a unique color or go for the norm with a tan trench coat or sweater, she can find what she is looking for.

2. Saks Fifth Avenue
Although Saks has a large number of windows, I decided to focus on this one because it went along with the theme that Aritzia was displaying above. The Saks windows are always iconic and on trend. This tomato red color is offset by a more neutral, yellow-gold. I want to wear this amazing color combination!

3. Ann Taylor
Without surprise, below we see this tomato red again! I personally like the way that Ann Taylor executed this color the best out of the three retailers I have chosen. Although the window display does not have many props or unique backdrops to it, it works. I enjoy the use of cheetah print and stripes mixed with the pop of color, tan, black, and chambray.

I think that we can conclude that a shade of red-orange is the it color of the season! It is crucial to offset the brightness with a neutral color, though. I love this color trend and hope that it lasts!

  4. I love how each store was compared and while they each serve a different purpose and appeal to particular customers they all utilized that ever popular burnt orange that's clearly everywhere right now. so fun!
